Quick AI — Privacy Policy

Quick AI is a Chrome extension that answers questions about text you highlight on a web page. This policy explains exactly what leaves your computer, what does not, and who sees it.

The short version

• Nothing is sent anywhere until you tap Shift on text you have highlighted, or type a question.
• When you do, that text goes to the Quick AI service, which searches the web and writes an answer. That is the whole product.
• Signing in with Google is optional. If you sign in, the only thing Quick AI learns is your email address, and the only thing it does with it is raise your daily allowance.
• There are no trackers, no analytics, no advertising, and nothing about you is sold or shared.

What is sent, and where

When you ask a question, Quick AI sends the text you highlighted, or the question you typed — plus the page's title and address, so the answer can take account of what you were reading — to the Quick AI service (quickai.ibneehsan96.workers.dev, hosted on Cloudflare). The service then contacts, on your behalf:

1. Serper (google.serper.dev) — to search the web. Privacy policy: https://serper.dev/privacy
2. DeepInfra (api.deepinfra.com) — to write the answer from what the search found. DeepInfra states that it does not train on API inputs. Privacy policy: https://deepinfra.com/privacy

Your browser never contacts Serper or DeepInfra directly, and the service holds the credentials for both — there are no keys on your computer.

Nothing else is sent. Quick AI does not read, collect, or transmit the rest of the page, your browsing history, your form entries, your cookies, or anything you have not highlighted.

Signing in with Google (optional)

You never need an account to use Quick AI. If you choose to sign in:

• Google shows its own sign-in window and asks your permission to share your email address with Quick AI. That is the entire request — not your contacts, files, calendar, or anything else.
• Each question you ask while signed in carries a signed token from Google. The service verifies Google's signature and uses the account identity for exactly one thing: counting your answers against your daily allowance, so the count follows you rather than one browser.
• The service stores a daily counter keyed to your Google account identifier. Counters expire automatically after two days. Your email and token are not stored on the server; the token is checked and discarded on each request.

Signing out in Settings removes the sign-in from your computer immediately.

What is stored on your computer

Stored in the extension's own local storage, and nowhere else:

• Your Google sign-in token, if you signed in (removed on sign-out).
• The size you last dragged the answer window to.
• A random identifier, generated on your computer, used only so the service can count a signed-out user's daily free answers. It contains nothing about you and is not linked to any other information. Clearing the extension's storage replaces it.

What the Quick AI service stores

• A count of answers per day — per random identifier, per network address, and (if signed in) per Google account identifier — so it can apply the daily allowance. Counts expire automatically after two days.
• Answers, cached for six hours. These are stored under a one-way cryptographic hash of the question, never the question itself, so the question is not readable in the service's storage. An identical question from anyone re-uses the saved answer.

No question text, no page addresses, and no email addresses are stored by the service.

Site favicons

The circles showing each source use Chrome's own local favicon cache. No request is made to any third-party favicon service, because that would tell that service which article you were checking.

Advertising, analytics, and selling data

There is none of any of it. Quick AI contains no analytics, no trackers, no advertising, and no third-party scripts. Nothing about you is sold, rented, or shared with anyone.

Children

Quick AI is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information from anyone knowingly.

Your choices

• Use it without signing in — that is the default, forever.
• Sign out at any time in Settings.
• Uninstalling the extension deletes everything stored on your computer.
• To have the service's counters associated with your Google account removed, contact the address below from that account.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published here and the date at the top will change before the change takes effect.
